What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler III position at Nelson Global Products, Inc?
This Position is responsible for material handling job duties supporting both production and quality needs through staging material for jobs and ensuring that inventory is maintained appropriately. This position must have the working knowledge of blueprints and computer programs needed to support the production and materials team.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Understand and apply appropriate safety procedures and practices
- Ensures a constant supply of parts to the cell/line.
- Stage and ensure material/fixtures availability for the next 2 production jobs.
- Disposition of completed parts out of a cell/line and of remaining components.
- Cycle counting and inventory adjustments for previous job.
- Load outgoing trucks/unload incoming trucks
- Transport incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas
- Maintain organized aisle ways and staging areas
- Operate forklift or other power-driven equipment
- Load or unload material onto or from pallets, trays, or shelves
- May work within customer portals to schedule shipments.
- Process required paperwork, print labels & perform appropriate computer work as needed
- Make accurate transactions in scanners to maintain accurate inventory levels
- Perform other duties as directed
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Forklift certification & crane certification or ability to obtain
- Ability to work well with others & alone; must be self-motivated
- Must be detail orientated
- Good computer skills and shipping procedure knowledge
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: The Material Handler position is an indoor plant position. The incumbent may spend a significant amount of time on the plant manufacturing floor which requires walking and standing on concrete floors and the use of required PPE.
