Job Summary

Duties
- Assist senior mechanics in performing inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment, including tractors and trailers.
- Learn to read schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems effectively
- Support the maintenance and repair of vehicle systems such as transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and air brake systems
- Participate in welding, fabrication, and assembly tasks to repair or modify equipment as needed
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely to perform routine maintenance tasks
- Conduct basic vehicle maintenance including tire service, fluid checks, and light repairs.
- Follow safety protocols during all repair activities and maintain a clean work environment
Qualifications
- Strong interest in automotive or heavy equipment mechanics with a desire to learn technical skills
- Dealership or heavy equipment experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for hands-on work is essential
- Basic mechanical knowledge with familiarity in using hand tools and power tools
- Ability to read schematics and understand mechanical diagrams is advantageous
- Willingness to work outdoors and lift heavy objects safely during maintenance tasks
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or coursework related to automotive or industrial mechanics is preferred
