Hours: In office Tuesday - Thursday only! Remote on Monday and Friday (9 - 5 daily)
Salary: $75,000-85,000 annually
We are on the lookout for a new Project Accountant to join our team in San Francisco. We need someone with a construction or real estate background who can hit the ground running. This is a crucial role within a housing development organization, and we're looking to move quickly! At least 2 years of experience could be a fit - the key is the construction or real estate background!
What You'll Be Doing:
As a key member of a small, dynamic 5-person accounting team, you'll be the financial backbone of multiple housing development projects. This isn't your typical corporate accounting role—you'll have direct ownership and responsibility for a portfolio of active projects.
Manage all financial aspects of development and construction projects.
Prepare and maintain detailed spreadsheets for project funding and costs.
Oversee project invoicing, draws, payables, and loan closings.
Provide financial reports and insights to leadership, ensuring projects stay on track and within budget.
Advise project managers on compliance with investor and lender requirements.
The Team & Culture:
You'll report directly to the Accounting Manager, who has been with the company for five years. He is a fantastic leader—known for being kind, collaborative, and for providing mentorship instead of micromanagement. The team itself is high-energy, upbeat, and enjoys a laid-back atmosphere with music in the office, team lunches, and extended holiday breaks.
Who We're Looking For:
Experience: A background in construction or real estate accounting is strongly preferred. We are open to candidates with as little as 2 years of professional experience.
Skills: Hands-on, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator. You should be comfortable taking ownership quickly.
