Blast Lead I

Job Description:

1. Performs all duties in a safe manner, being responsible for the safety of yourself and the employees around you
2. Performs all Blaster II job responsibilities competently
3. Communicates with customer and co-workers, daily and through-out the shift, to ensure proper people, equipment and products for each blast pattern
4. Manage any direct reports with respect
5. Willing to train and mentor co-workers
6. Thorough knowledge of product line to apply best product for specific application, with emphasis on fragmentation and costs
7. Ensure all co-workers have the necessary equipment/supplies to perform assigned task
8. Ensure all patterns are loaded properly, and required shots are scheduled daily
9. Maintain necessary documentation for all inspection books and inventory requirements
10. Communicate bin levels with Nelson Brothers, and any other required parties, along with daily projections, manage bin inventory and deliveries
11. Ensure all servicing is being scheduled for bulk trucks and support equipment
12. Work with Mine Supervisors and NB personnel throughout the day to ensure proper communication and objectives are met
13. Assist in ensuring all co-workers paper work is accurate, neat, and complete
14. Work with appropriate personnel to ensure inventories are accurate
15. Assist in communicating maintenance issues, including scheduling preventive maintenance
16. Ensure all equipment and buildings are clean, inside and out
17. Manage and communicate product type and needs to ensure all targets and objectives are met
18. Supervises blast crew including initiating the disciplinary process with employees when needed
