Nelson Analytical is a full service, independent testing laboratory that provides analysis of water, soil, food, pharmaceutical, cannabis and other various samples for residential and industrial clients.
Nelson Analytical is currently hiring for a Laboratory Analyst to join our Wet Chemistry department at our Manchester, New Hampshire location.
Job Purpose:
The Wet Chemistry laboratory analyst, under supervision, will perform all duties in the Wet Chemistry department including preparation of reagents and samples, analyzing samples, data entry, peer review of data, housekeeping, and all QC requirements in order to maintain compliance with the QC and accreditation programs.
General Job Skills, Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Analyze samples consisting of a variety of matrices and cross train on various laboratory technologies including, titration, ion selective electrode and spectrophotometry.
- Prepare samples for analysis while displaying good laboratory technique to avoid misidentified samples
- Maintain high productivity, keen attention to detail, and consistent multi-tasking while yielding a low testing error rate
- Prepare appropriate standards, reference materials and reagents
- Properly and thoroughly document all work performed
- Calibrate, operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation
- Maintain instrument log books and run logs
- Ensure appropriate testing procedures are conducted in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and various regulatory requirements
- Generate work lists, upload and enter data
- Peer review of data for accuracy and compliance with QA guidelines
- Maintain and assure proper inventory of chemicals and supplies
- Maintain good housekeeping standards
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods
Education and Experience:
BS/BA in Biology, Microbiology, or Environmental Science or related field is preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.
Compensation:
$45,000 annual salary
