Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-in/check-out processes using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
- Verify insurance coverage, process payments, and handle medical billing including Medicare and health insurance claims using knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical collection procedures
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies
- Assist chiropractors with clinical tasks such as documenting care plans, reviewing documentation for accuracy, and supporting treatment procedures
- Manage phone communication with patients, providers, and insurance companies while demonstrating professional phone etiquette and effective scheduling skills
- Perform administrative duties including filing, data entry (10 key typing), faxing, scanning documents, and managing electronic health records (EHR systems)
- Support clinic operations by ensuring the cleanliness of the front desk area, managing office supplies, and providing exceptional customer service to all visitors
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA compliance policies and clinical confidentiality standards
- Ability to perform clerical tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining organized medical records
- Previous dental or chiropractic clinic experience is advantageous but not required; training will be provided for specific clinical support duties
