Power Plant Project Manager
Location: Terre Haute, Indiana
Nelpro Project Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead power plant construction projects in Terre Haute, Indiana.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing power generation and/or heavy industrial construction projects and a strong command of professional project management practices. PMP certification is preferred.
This position has overall responsibility for successful project delivery, including scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, procurement, resources, communications, and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the project from planning and mobilization through construction, commissioning, turnover, and closeout.
- Develop and maintain the Project Management Plan and overall execution strategy.
- Establish and manage project scope, schedule, and cost baselines.
- Develop and maintain the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Manage the project schedule, including milestones, dependencies, constraints, critical path, and recovery plans.
- Monitor project performance against approved baselines and identify variances requiring corrective action.
- Manage project budgets, commitments, forecasts, and Estimate at Completion (EAC).
- Maintain the project risk register and ensure risks have appropriate owners, mitigation strategies, and response plans.
- Manage project issues, assumptions, constraints, decisions, and action items through closure.
- Implement disciplined change control for changes affecting project scope, schedule, or cost.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, subcontractors, vendors, field supervision, and commissioning activities.
- Monitor procurement and long-lead equipment to ensure alignment with the project schedule.
- Lead project meetings and communicate project status, risks, issues, changes, and required decisions to NELPRO leadership and the client.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, project documentation, and contractual requirements.
- Work closely with field leadership to ensure construction activities are properly planned, sequenced, and executed.
- Drive accountability for safety, quality, schedule, cost, and project deliverables.
- Lead commissioning support, turnover, punch-list completion, lessons learned, and project closeout.
Required Qualifications
- 8 years of Project Management experience in power generation, energy, EPC, or heavy industrial construction.
- Experience managing complex construction projects with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, risk, and project delivery.
- Power plant and/or heavy industrial construction experience.
- Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, risk management, procurement, and change management.
- Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, engineering teams, and field construction personnel.
- Strong understanding of industrial construction sequencing and field execution.
- Ability to read and interpret contracts, construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical documentation.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.
- Experience with power plant construction, upgrades, outages, retrofits, or major equipment installations.
- EPC or EPCM project experience.
- Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project experience.
- Experience with mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation and controls, structural, concrete, and major equipment installation.
Salary : $130,000 - $270,000
