Position Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring a safe and efficient operation is maintained at our Nekoosa and Wisconsin Rapids manufacturing plants. This position will manage all maintenance and facility repairs and work closely with our operations and engineering teams to ensure optimal machine reliability.

Key Responsibilities
Organizational Development
- Achieve ‘meets or exceeds expectations’ for all MBO’s and Key Responsibilities.
- Interface effectively with other maintenance functions to maximize success and increase expertise across the entire organization (Electrician, Mechanics, Purchasing, supplier, and contractors).
Maintenance Responsibilities:
- Promote a safe work environment to eliminate workforce incidents/injuries. Drive safety initiatives within the team and across the facility.
- Direct and manage the Maintenance department in alignment with the strategic plan of the company.
- Lead and supervise maintenance craftspeople and contractors to effectively plan and schedule routine work as well as perform emergency work.
- Ensure planned maintenance down days are effective and efficient by overseeing the planning process.
- Contact, interview, request bids and manage multiple outside vendors, engineering consultants, contractors, and other outside organizations as needed.
- Lead the successful application of Total Productive Maintenance throughout the facility.
- Determine, build consensus for, and implement changes to equipment and processes to further improve production, product cost and reliability.
- The ability to forecast maintenance needs and execute work to meet timelines and budgets.
- Develop necessary standard-operating procedures while identifying and provide necessary training for maintenance craftspeople.
- Assist with recommending and procuring parts for maintenance equipment repairs, replacements, and spare parts.
- Assist in the development of annual manufacturing maintenance budget, monitor expenditures, report variances to budget.
- Assist in the design of and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs to optimize equipment life and minimize operating cost.
- Monitor the vibration monitoring programs, including determination of machines for periodic/continuous monitoring, frequency of testing, route plans.
- Recommend field corrective actions, such as balancing, alignment and replacement of machine parts.
- Maintenance Planning responsibility for assigned assets.
- Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis.
- Prepare reports for appropriate personnel on machine condition, recommend corrective action and report on the effectiveness of repairs.
- Support 5S efforts through conducting 5S inspections as needed.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Certified Journeyman, Associate Degree and/or BS Degree in Paper Science, Mechanical, HVAC and/or Electrical, Chemical Engineering, Project Management, or other relevant degree preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of related maintenance experience including direct supervision.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing environments, processes, and procedures.
- Ability to drive resolution of complex problems as both an individual contributor and facilitator.
- Recognizes a sense of urgency and displays the ability to engage people in a positive manner to move outlined initiatives forward.
- Works effectively in ambiguous situations with sound ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Maintains a positive approach as an unwavering advocate for a culture of safety and Operational Excellence.
