What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President, Private Client P&C Insurance position at Neil Jesani Advisors, Inc.?
About the Company
Neil Jesani Advisors is a multidisciplinary advisory firm serving over 1,500 ultra-high-net-worth clients across tax planning, tax controversy, trust & estate and asset protection, legal structuring, wealth management, and business advisory. Our clients are concentrated in California, Metro New York, and South Florida - with a Fort Lauderdale headquarters serving as the operational hub.
The individuals and families we serve have complex, high-value personal risk profiles - primary and secondary residences, art and jewelry collections, watercraft, aviation, exotic vehicles, and umbrella exposures that standard carriers cannot adequately address.
Neil Jesani Risk Advisors is a private client P&C practice to serve those needs the same way we serve our clients on tax and wealth: as a trusted advisor embedded in the full picture of their financial lives, not a broker chasing a renewal.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced private client P&C leader to build and run NJA's personal lines practice. This is a highly entrepreneurial opportunity - build something from the ground up, with a large client base already in place. You are embedded in a multidisciplinary firm with deep existing relationships across the full balance sheets of our UHNW client base. Your pipeline is seeded by NJA's tax, legal, and wealth teams, who are already engaged with these clients on estate planning, ownership structuring, real estate transactions, and generational wealth transfer. You will also be responsible for sourcing new clients not under the umbrella of the Neil Jesani group of companies.
What You'll Do
- Lead NJA's private client P&C practice as a strategic risk advisor to UHNW individuals, families, and family offices
- Function as a personal risk manager for clients with complex household exposures - advising on coverage architecture, carrier selection, program design, and total cost of risk across all personal lines
- Structure and place comprehensive personal programs - high-value homeowners, excess flood, fine art and collectibles, jewelry, watercraft, aviation, exotic and collector vehicles, personal umbrella, and specialty coverages
- Actively source new clients through your own network and business development - NJA's existing book is your launch pad, not your ceiling
- Collaborate with NJA's tax, legal, and wealth teams to identify personal insurance needs arising from estate planning activity, real estate acquisitions, trust transfers, and life events
- Build and manage a team of producers and account managers as the practice grows
- Establish and maintain carrier relationships with admitted and E&S markets specializing in high-net-worth personal lines - Chubb, PURE, Vault, Berkley One, and comparable platforms
- Conduct coverage audits for new clients, identifying program gaps and recommending improvements
- Own the practice P&L - set targets, manage to them, and be accountable for the outcome
What We're Looking For
- 15 years of personal lines P&C experience, with the majority of your career focused on UHNW or high-net-worth clients
- Demonstrated track record as both a producer and a relationship manager - you source new business and you service it
- Experience structuring complex multi-line personal programs across high-value homes, fine art, collectibles, watercraft, aviation, umbrella, and specialty exposures
- Deep understanding of the risk profiles of wealthy individuals, family offices, and multi-generational families
- Comfort advising clients on personal insurance in the context of estate planning, trust structures, real estate activity, and life transitions
- Florida 2-20 license required; additional state licenses a plus given the geographic spread of the client base
- Established relationships with admitted and surplus lines carriers serving the HNW/UHNW personal lines market
- A builder mentality - this is a founding role and you are energized by it
Nice to Have
- CIC, CPCU, CRM, or CRIS designation
- Experience placing aviation, watercraft, or fine art/collectibles coverage for UHNW clients
- Familiarity with trust-owned property, LLC-held assets, and the insurance implications of complex ownership structures
- Existing relationships with wholesale and surplus lines markets for specialty personal lines placements
- Established referral network with CPAs, estate attorneys, family office advisors, or private bankers
- Existing book of HNW/UHNW personal lines clients portable to a new platform
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary commensurate with experience. Total on-target earnings of $300,000β$400,000 OTE with uncapped production-based upside above target. Clear and accelerated path to equity participation as the practice scales.
Why NJA
- Immediate access to 1,500 UHNW clients across California, Metro New York, and South Florida - a warm pipeline from day one
- Built-in cross-referral flow from NJA's tax, legal, and wealth management teams within the same firm
- Real leadership authority - you hire your team, set your strategy, and own the outcome
- Meaningful equity upside tied to what you build - not a formula, not a grid
- A firm that competes on advisory depth and relationships - not volume
- A firm in active growth mode with significant hiring planned across the insurance practice
