Neighbors is a recently opened market in the heart of Rhinebeck, NY. We carry a curated selection of dry goods and produce, alongside a fresh menu of house-made grab-and-go foods. Our goal is to be a true community hotspot—the go-to spot where locals stop in to pick up lunch, grab a cold brew, and connect.
The Role
We are looking for an efficient, reliable Part-Time Prep Cook to help bring our grab-and-go case to life. You will be responsible for producing high-quality menu items, assembling prepared dishes, and preparing essential components from scratch—including dressings, pickled vegetables, and roasted proteins/vegetables.
The ideal candidate works efficiently, manages their time effectively to meet daily production schedules, and takes pride in keeping a clean, organized kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Efficiently work through daily prep lists; execute recipes for dressings, sauces, pickling, and roasted ingredients.
- Assembly & Presentation: Assemble and package sandwiches, salads, and other grab-and-go items.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean, stocked, and sanitized throughout your shift.
- Food Safety & Inventory: Properly store, label, and date all food products, adhering to strict food safety standards.
- Communication: Keep clear lines of communication with the team regarding stock levels and ingredient reordering needs.
Qualifications
- Basic Knife Skills: Comfortable with routine chopping, slicing, and prep techniques.
- Schedule: Flexible availability, including weekends.
- Work Ethic: Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
- Time Management: Strong ability to prioritize tasks to ensure items hit the shop floor on schedule.
