Neighborhood Properties, Inc. is a privately held real estate development, investment, and management firm based in Charlottesville, VA, with four decades of experience and proven proficiency in acquiring, developing, and managing residential rental properties.
We are currently seeking a qualified Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations within our facilities. The role involves training staff and overseeing the efficient execution of upkeep and repair tasks. A successful maintenance supervisor should be dependable, detail-oriented, and possess technical expertise in various trades such as carpentry and plumbing. HVAC certifications and skills are highly valued, especially in diagnostic and repair of split system heat pumps, with top-tier compensation offered. Strong leadership abilities and proficiency in administrative tasks, including scheduling, are crucial. The primary objective is to ensure that our facilities remain in excellent and safe conditions at all times.
The schedule initially for this position is Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. All maintenance personnel participate in a rotating on-call schedule as well.
Responsibilities
- Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance
- Prepare daily maintenance schedules and allocate work
- Supervise and train maintenance technicians
- Inspect and maintain building systems (heating, ventilation etc.)
- Monitor inventory of materials and equipment
- Participate in coordination of projects and turns (move-out/move-in)
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations
Skills
- Proven experience as maintenance supervisor or similar role
- Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating etc.)
- Knowledge of health and safety practices and regulations
- Excellent planning and leadership abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma; Degree from a vocational school will be a plus
- Professional Certifications (e.g. CMRP or HVAC certified) are preferred
- Clean driving record required - NO DUI/Reckless convictions within the past 5 years. (Insurance liability).
- Must be able to pass drug test and criminal background check.
