Reformer Pilates Instructor | W-2 Employee

Neighborhood Pilates is a new boutique reformer studio located inside Neighborhood Physical Therapy & Pilates in Olympia, Washington.

We’re building something a little different.

Our studio operates alongside a physical therapy practice, creating an environment where movement quality, education, rehabilitation, and community all come together. We believe Pilates can be life-changing, and we’re looking for instructors who feel the same.

We’re currently hiring instructors who have completed a comprehensive Pilates certification or are in the final stages of a comprehensive teacher training program and are preparing to teach independently.

If you’re nearing completion and need supervised teaching hours to finish your certification, we’d still encourage you to apply. We’d be happy to discuss whether Neighborhood could be a good fit as you complete your remaining requirements.

If you’re looking for a corporate studio where your success is measured by memberships sold or retail goals, we probably aren’t the right fit.

If you love teaching, enjoy helping people move better, and want to help build a studio from the ground up, we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Do

  • Teach small-group reformer Pilates classes
  • Teach private and semi-private sessions as available
  • Provide individualized cueing and movement corrections
  • Modify exercises for varying abilities, injuries, and fitness levels
  • Create a welcoming, encouraging experience for every client
  • Prepare equipment before and after classes
  • Collaborate with our physical therapy team when appropriate
  • Help shape the culture, programming, and growth of a brand-new studio

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for instructors who teach the person in front of them, not just the room.

Our ideal instructor:

  • Holds a comprehensive Pilates certification or is nearing completion of comprehensive teacher training
  • Has reformer teaching experience or supervised teaching hours
  • Has a strong understanding of anatomy, alignment, and movement mechanics
  • Delivers clear, confident cueing
  • Can confidently modify exercises for different abilities and injuries
  • Values professionalism, reliability, and continuous learning
  • Loves building relationships with clients
  • Is excited to grow alongside a new locally owned studio

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comprehensive Pilates Certification
  • Reformer teaching experience
  • Experience in rehabilitation, physical therapy, corrective exercise, or clinical settings
  • Additional movement certifications (TRX, Barre, Yoga, Strength & Conditioning, etc.)
  • Experience teaching private sessions
  • Existing connections within the Olympia community

What Makes Neighborhood Different

We’ve spoken with a lot of instructors over the past several weeks, and one thing keeps coming up.

Many became instructors because they love teaching.

Not because they wanted to spend class time selling memberships or merchandise.

Neighborhood was built with that in mind.

We’re a locally owned studio focused on movement, education, rehabilitation, and community. We believe great instructors build great studios, and our goal is to create an environment where instructors can focus on delivering exceptional classes while we handle the business side of the operation.

Yes, we’re a business, and memberships matter. But our priority is retaining members through outstanding instruction, genuine relationships, and an exceptional client experience, not high-pressure sales goals.

We’re intentionally building a studio where instructors are valued, clients feel known, and community comes before corporate metrics.
