Position: Family Services Manager Salary: $ 49,000-59,000 commensurate with experience Schedule: Monday through Friday during business hours, with occasional evenings and weekends. Location: In person, St. Paul WHO WE ARE For more than 125 years, Neighborhood House has partnered with families in St. Paul to ensure access to essential services, including food, housing, education, and opportunities. Today, we serve more than 30,000 individuals annually across six neighborhoods, striving for a community where everyone can thrive. POSITION SUMMARY The Family Services Manager oversees the daily operations of two Family Centers by supervising a team of Family Coaches and interns and fostering a culturally responsive, high-performing team environment rooted in radical hospitality. This role oversees site operations, including staffing, supplies, donations, budgeting, and partnerships, while collaborating closely with internal teams and community partners to ensure seamless, participant-focused service delivery. The Manager also provides direct services, such as intake, assessment, safety planning, and resource navigation, ensuring that all services meet standards for inclusion, accessibility, and compliance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Management: Coordination: 7. Actively participate in required meetings, trainings, and other events as requested.

  • Lead a team of three Family Coaches and ensure the Family Center runs effectively.
  • Translate Family Center and organizational goals into clear work plans for Family Coaches and interns, ensuring each team member understands their role in advancing program objectives.
  • Oversee the day-to-day work of interns, providing training, coaching, and delegating tasks that meet the needs of participants and the interns' educational requirements.
  • Provide regular, clear work guidance and expectations, along with constructive coaching that includes both guidance and corrective feedback, to support staff in their professional growth and accountability.
  • Actively coach and support team members in developing cultural competence and practicing radical hospitality, in alignment with NH expectations.
  • Communicate operational plans, decisions, and changes clearly and in a timely manner to the Family Center team and relevant partners.
  • Ensure the team follows local, state, and federal procedures and standards, and maintain all data privacy requirements, including compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • As the site manager, coordinate resources (staffing schedules, supplies, space, volunteers, and community partnerships) to ensure effective daily operations and alignment with program goals.
  • Working with the In-Kind Coordinator, help coordinate and receive donations from in-kind partners, individual donors, and community drives.
  • When overseeing purchasing and budget reconciliation, ensure responsible and timely financial stewardship within approved budgets, aligned with NH policies.
  • Actively organize, lead and/or support special programs and tabling events including organization-wide community events, holiday gift program, and events in the broader community
  • Research community resources with the capacity to support participant needs (such as My Very Own Bed, Bridging, MN Sure, and others).
  • Effectively coordinate with internal partners in the Food Support, Volunteer Engagement, In-Kind, and Social Work/Trauma-Informed Initiatives teams to advance shared participant outcomes.
  • Support continuous improvement of Family Center processes to ensure accessibility, inclusion, cultural responsiveness, and sustainability.
  • Other duties as identified for the success of Family Centers and Neighborhood House. Direct Service:
  • Provide services that are culturally responsive and aligned with NH’s standards for inclusion, accessibility, and radical hospitality, including:
  • Conduct intake and ongoing meetings with participants at the Family Center, in their homes, and in community settings.
  • Complete program assessments for determining participant needs and identifying program goals.
  • Collaborate with families to develop strategies for accessing essential resources and social support.
  • Assist participants in developing a safety plan (as needed) and provide culturally responsive services that align with the participant’s safety plan.
  • Work with families from a wide range of backgrounds to strengthen parent-child relationships and develop parenting skills
  • Assist participants whose first language is not English through the use of translation services and tools
  • Respond to inquiries about basic needs by phone, email, in-person, or through the referral database. Data and Evaluation:
  • Maintain documentation and files for each participant.
  • Record all service-related interactions with participants.
  • Keep an inventory of donations distributed to participants. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Actively support and champion the mission and programs of Neighborhood House. 2. Actively support and lead initiatives regarding Neighborhood House’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, access, racial justice, and anti-racism. Conduct all activities with a high degree of cultural competency. 3. Maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with colleagues, participants, donors, board members, volunteers, and community partners. 4. Consistently uphold Neighborhood House policies, procedures, and confidentiality protocols. 5. When representing Neighborhood House to internal and external audiences, articulate the organization’s desired image and position.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or related field or four years of related work experience in family case management
  • Demonstrated a minimum of two years of successful management or supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of community development, community organizing and other social services as resources
  • Strong organizational and budgeting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing program/participant/funder needs while maintaining programs
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic, economic, racial and cultural backgrounds
  • Working knowledge of racial equity and social justice issues relevant to the communities we serve; Working knowledge of immigrant/refugee trends and needs, self-sufficiency issues and community resources
  • Strong time management skills with demonstrated ability to manage tasks, projects, and priorities;
  • Committed to working both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation. Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in social work, human services, or related field
  • Ability to speak one or more languages spoken by our participant families, especially Spanish, Karen, Hmong, and Somali. WORK LOCATION This in-person role is based in St. Paul, MN.
