Job Purpose: The Domestic Violence-Rapid Rehousing (DV-RRH) Program Assistant plays a vital role in connecting individuals and families experiencing domestic violence with safe, stable housing. This position actively develops and maintains partnerships with landlords, collaborates with community agencies to expand resources, provides direct client support, and ensures meticulous record-keeping within housing programs.
Reporting directly to the Housing Director, this position requires a professional who is proactive, empathetic, collaborative, and detail-oriented.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following, as well as other work-related duties as assigned:
A. Landlord Partnerships
· Actively recruit and establish partnerships with landlords to increase the availability of housing options for program participants.
· Negotiate lease terms, rental agreements, and incentives to secure safe and stable housing for clients.
· Maintain positive relationships with landlords through regular communication and prompt conflict resolution.
B. Inter-agency Collaboration
· Engage with supporting agencies, community partners, and other stakeholders to share information about the Domestic Violence Rapid Re-Housing program and extend the referral network so that new clients can be identified.
· Coordinate with external organizations to enhance service integration and advocate for additional resources for program participants.
· Attend meetings, conferences, and events to represent the program and build collaborative relationships.
C. Resource Collection and Management
· Identify and gather resources tailored to the unique needs of clients, including but not limited to housing assistance, financial support, and community services.
· Collaborate with community organizations, government agencies, and businesses to compile a comprehensive database of available resources.
D. Client Interaction
· Facilitate the intake procedure and referral process for the Coordinated Entry By Names List (BNL) to ensure eligible prospective clients are in consideration for community-wide affordable housing opportunities.
· Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their housing and resource needs.
· Provide individualized/group support and guidance to clients, assisting them in accessing appropriate resources and services.
· Act as a liaison between clients and various service providers to ensure seamless coordination of support.
E. Reporting and Record Keeping
· Maintain physical and electronic client files to standards set by agency policies, regulatory, and funding stakeholder requirements, including documentation of:
a. Intake form, application, and supporting documentation
b. Coordination and follow-up
c. Financial payment records
d. Special circumstances and issues as they arise
· Regularly update client records in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) database.
· Generate regular reports for the Lead Housing Case Manager and Housing Director, summarizing program activities, challenges, and successes.
