Position Summary: The Dishwasher & Substitute Driver is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring all equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and stored. This position also provides backup driving support for meal delivery and client transportation as needed.

Essential Job Functions:
Washes, rinses, and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment according to food safety regulations.
Maintains cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area and other kitchen spaces.
Sweeps, mops, and sanitizes kitchen floors and surfaces daily.
Empties trash and recycling, ensuring proper disposal.
Monitors and replenishes cleaning supplies as needed.
Completes assigned cleaning schedules and checklists.
Operates dishwashing equipment safely and reports any malfunctions.
Assists with basic kitchen prep or packaging when directed.
Serves as a substitute driver for meal delivery and transportation (See below for exact duties):
- Delivers meals accurately and on time.
- Transports clients to appointments and activities when scheduled.
- Ensures safe vehicle operation and adheres to traffic laws.
- Maintains accurate delivery and transport logs.
Additional Job Functions:
Performs daily inspections of vehicles and uses agency checklists to document Pre and Post Trip inspections.
Checks all accessible equipment, including each lift or ramp, at the beginning of each service day.
Alerts Transit Coordinator and/ or Program Manager to any issues immediately before starting routes. Reports any concerns to supervisor immediately discovering any issues with the vehicle throughout shift.
Ensures safe/clean vehicle. Adheres to cleaning and disinfecting schedule.
Operates vehicles in accordance with state/local laws and agency policies.
Assists clients in and out of the vehicle as needed. Uses mobility lift or ramp to assist clients as needed. Utilizes tie downs for mobility devices as needed.
Maintains proper fuel levels, windshield wiper fluid, tire pressure in vehicle.
Follows established route, examines assignment sheet daily for changes.
Maintains a friendly demeanor while assisting clients and engages in conversation throughout routes as needed.
Collects any fees as needed.
Maintains accurate mileage logs and transportation records.
Transports vehicle to service repair shops as needed and/ or as scheduled.
Assists clients with language services as required.
Informs supervisor of complaints or concerns from clients on a daily basis..
Supports kitchen staff during high-volume periods.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Necessary Education and Training:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous dishwashing or custodial experience preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to read and follow written instructions.
Valid driver's license and auto insurance required, including clean driver record with fewer than 6 points.
Experience with technology, including cell phones and tables.
CPR1/'First Aid Certification with Bloodborne Pathogen training, preferred but will train right candidate
Willingness to complete Defensive Driving Course, Emergency Procedures and Evacuation training, PAT /DRIVE/PASS Certification or equivalent course
Must be 18 years of age with 2 or more years of experience driving. Experience driving buses or 16-passenger vehicles preferred.
Physical Demands: Requires standing for long periods, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity and ability to work in a hot, humid environment required.
Typical Working Conditions: Operates in a kitchen and transportation setting. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, heat, and noise.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
