Construction Estimator

Neighborgall Construction, a leading commercial construction company, is seeking a Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team in Huntington, WV. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with 3-7 years of relevant experience in commercial project estimating. This is NOT a remote position, and no remote arrangements will be considered.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze project documents including drawings, specifications, and references, including geotechnical reports, to determine the most appropriate construction means and methods to construct a commercial building and to establish a breakout of scope packages.

- Preform quantity take-off for self-preformed and subcontracted items to develop a detailed estimate of all labor, materials, and equipment costs associated with each task required to complete the overall construction of complex commercial buildings including multi-story masonry and steel structures in the health care, institutional, and large commercial markets.

- Understand and apply appropriate labor and material costs for each item identified in the project estimate in accordance with the project requirements, site conditions, and material availability.

- Oral and written communication with architects, subcontractors, suppliers, support organizations, and company personnel to articulate project requirements, address informational needs, initial project schedules, and desired scopes of work.

- Maintain familiarity with local building codes, ordinances, and regulations to ensure compliance and inclusion in project estimates.

- Monitor estimated costs versus actual costs for feedback into future estimates and update database with region specific pricing as necessary.

- Travel and attend pre-bid meetings and site walkthroughs as required by project documents or as necessary to complete an accurate cost estimate.

- Provide support to Project Managers as necessary.

Requirements:

- 3-7 years of experience in commercial construction project estimating.

- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

- Comprehensive ability to read and interpret construction documents including drawings and specifications.

- Mastery of computer programs including Microsoft suite of products and Adobe. Proficiency in estimating software including takeoff tools and estimating databases, excluding Microsoft excel.

- Critical attention to detail and organization skills with the ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple estimates at various stages at any given time.

- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Relocation Allowance for Estimator Position:

The Relocation Allowance is for a new employee in an Estimator Position and will be given as a lump sum amount – one month’s salary not to exceed $10,000.

To be eligible for the lump sum relocation assistance, the candidate must currently live 2 hours away or 120 miles minimum from our office location.

The lump sum allowance will be paid direct to the employee as taxable income in the year received. The employee would have a maximum of 60 days to be fully relocated. If the employee spends less than the allocated amount they can keep the remaining balance, if cost exceeds the allowance the additional amount would be covered by the employee.

The relocation package is contingent upon the employees’ agreement to remain in the role for at least two years from the date of hire. If the employee resigns or is terminated before this period, all relocation benefits will be forfeited and repaid to the company.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
