Neighbor-to-Neighbor (N2N) Navigator – Job Description

Position Summary

The N2N Navigator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Neighbor-to-Neighbor (N2N) program, which supports Logan County residents in safely aging in place. The program connects older adults with services, resources, and volunteer assistance to help them remain independent, healthy, and engaged in their homes.

The Navigator serves as the primary point of contact for subscribers and volunteers, ensuring high-quality customer experience while coordinating services, managing program logistics, and maintaining strong community relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Program Operations

  • Oversee daily operations of the N2N program.
  • Maintain and update the N2N operational manual.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare reports on volunteer hours, subscriber activity, and service outcomes.

Subscriber Engagement & Services

  • Serve as the first point of contact for prospective and current subscribers.
  • Enroll new subscribers and conduct in-home needs assessments.
  • Maintain subscriber relationships and retention through ongoing communication.
  • Coordinate and fulfill subscriber service requests in a timely manner.
  • Manage billing, payments, and membership renewals.
  • Ensure all subscriber interactions and services are properly documented.

Volunteer Management

  • Recruit volunteers through outreach, events, and speaking engagements.
  • Conduct volunteer onboarding and training.
  • Match volunteers with subscriber needs.
  • Supervise, support, and motivate volunteers, providing feedback and guidance.
  • Monitor volunteer performance and recognize contributions.
  • Address concerns, resolve disputes, and terminate volunteers when necessary.

Community Outreach & Partnerships

  • Act as the primary spokesperson for the N2N program in local media, public forums, and community meetings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local service providers, partners, and community organizations.
  • Continuously research, evaluate, and update available resources and referral networks.
  • Provide information and referrals to community-based services.

Administrative & Communication Duties

  • Maintain an electronic database of subscribers, volunteers, services, and community resources.
  • Respond promptly to phone and email inquiries.
  • Triage and assign service requests appropriately.
  • Ensure accurate and timely follow-up on all requests.

Skills & Competencies

  • Customer Service: Demonstrates warmth, tact, diplomacy, and patience when working with older adults and volunteers.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable with public speaking.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Enjoys engaging with people and building relationships.
  • Problem-Solving: Resourceful and able to research solutions to meet diverse needs.
  • Organization: Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Marketing & Outreach: Ability to promote the program and recruit subscribers and volunteers.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Experience in nonprofit organizations or business administration preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexible, efficient, and service-oriented with a positive attitude.

This is a part-time, 1099 contract position, starting at approximately 10 hours per week.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
