About the Role
We are hiring an Assistant Project Manager to handle documentation and coordination across our heavy civil and site work projects for NYC and NYS public agencies. This is an office-based support role — the bulk of your day-to-day will be managing submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs to keep multiple projects moving through approvals on time.
Once submittal-heavy phases wind down, you'll assist PMs across other aspects of project management — change orders, payment requisitions, reporting, and coordination — giving you exposure to the full project lifecycle.
If you've worked in document control or project coordination on NYC public agency jobs, or you're looking to get your foot in the door with agency work, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Own the submittal process across multiple projects — prepare, log, track, and follow up on submittals and shop drawings with subcontractors, engineers, and agency reviewers
- Draft, submit, and track RFIs, ensuring timely responses and proper documentation of design clarifications
- Review shop drawings and subcontractor submissions for completeness before forwarding to the engineer of record
- Manage document control workflows using Kahua, Procore, Bluebeam, or agency-specific portals
- Coordinate with agency PMs, inspectors, and resident engineers — attend meetings, document minutes, and track action items
- As project phases shift, assist with change orders, payment requisitions, progress reports, scheduling in Primavera P6, and closeout packages
Qualification
- 3–6 years of experience in construction document control, project coordination, or assistant project management
- Familiarity with the submittal and RFI process on NYC public works projects
- Working knowledge of Bluebeam or AutoCAD, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and clear communication skills
Preferred
- Direct experience supporting projects for SCA, DDC, MTA, DASNY, or NYCHA
- Exposure to agency portals (Passport, eBuilder, B2G, Kahua)
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- OSHA 30-Hour certification
Compensation
