What are the responsibilities and job description for the NES Estimator position at NEFCO Service Divisions LLC?
Description
Job Summary: Responsible for preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of full estimates on large and complex projects as required by client’s documents and provide complete conceptual and total bid price.
Job Duties:
- Review and evaluate requests for estimates and project quotes, as needed
- Prepare weekly bid calendar and ensure timely completion of estimates
- Prepare and review estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.
- Create job folders
- Input take-offs of construction documents
- Review construction documents and understand scope of work to bid
- Obtain pricing for materials
- Obtain bids from subcontractors
- Prepare cost analysis in NEFCO’s Enterprise Resource Planning System, Eclipse, by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead cost incurred in the installation of strut grid projects.
- Make an estimate where predetermined standards are not available
- Inform immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database
- Develop and maintain cost data, including labor, equipment, and production rates
- Maintain estimating procedures and guidelines
- Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors
- Attend branch meetings
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Demonstrate strong ability to work in fast paced, high pressure environment
- Excellent computer skills and capability to adeptly operate Eclipse, Microsoft Office Suite and any other software required
- Strong customer service skills
- Maintain excellent regular attendance, punctuality to ensure a high-quality and timely response for customers
- Must perform work accurately and with a sense of urgency and integrity while paying strict attention to detail
- College degree preferred
- 3-5 years of work experience
