Job Summary
The Direct Service Provider plays a crucial role in delivering compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other related conditions. This position involves working one-on-one with clients to provide support which allows them to live in their own home. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver, respectful, tolerant, a strong communicator, reliable, can adhere to professional requirements, and can take the initiative to do what is needed without being directed.
Responsibilities
- One-on-one support for clients with developmental disability.
- Meal preparation.
- Medication assistance.
- Diabetic assistance.
- Light housekeeping.
- Companionship, including engaging with the client regarding their interests.
- Assistance with making and transportation to/from medical appointments.
- Documentation of daily activities and medications administered.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
- Previous experience in patient care, adult care, and/or senior care settings is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills.
- Conflict management skills to navigate challenging situations effectively.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Relevant certifications or training in case management or caregiving are beneficial but not required.
- Reliable transportation.
- Flexibility to work weekends as needed.
Job Type: Part-time
