This is a part-time, on-site role located in Oceanport, NJ, for a Medical Coder. The Medical Coder will be responsible for reviewing patient records, assigning accurate medical codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services, and ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations. The role involves collaborating with providers and healthcare teams, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting the revenue cycle management process by facilitating proper billing and reimbursement.
- Proficiency in medical coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and reimbursement processes
- Attention to detail, analytical skills, and accuracy in reviewing and assigning codes
- Proficiency in healthcare billing systems and electronic medical records (EMR)
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification is required
- Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and communicate clearly
