The Geologist performs tasks relating to environmental assessment and remediation that requires collection and analysis of environmental data, an understanding of regulations and developing written reports and documents. Essential duties
- Field work to observe environmental conditions and collect data.
- Operates computer mapping software.
- Researches environmental conditions through web-based sites and agency file review.
- Tabulates and analyzed environmental data.
- Researches regulatory and permitting requirements.
- Prepares draft reports and draft permit applications.
- Using prescribed methods, performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced professional.
- Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related steps or processes.
- Documents findings and maintains project records.
- Prepares graphical representations and maps of environmental conditions.
- Collect samples and utilize field measurement equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology field.
- 0-3 years of environmental assessment and remediation experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Domestic travel may be required; the frequency of travel is contingent on workload and project demands.
