About the Program: TREC (Therapeutic Recreation Experiences & Community) is a recreation based program developed to meet the unique needs of adults with a mental disability who desire to reach their full potential through recreation, leisure activities and community involvement. TREC strives to maintain and develop social skills and life skills in order to provide individuals with positive experiences within their community. TREC provides opportunities for self-discovery, self-advocacy and fun through community based volunteer opportunities, recreation activities and peer interactions.
Qualifications and Responsibilities: The chosen applicant will be responsible for leading NEDSRA’s adult day program TREC, planning and implementing detailed lesson plans, as well as working cooperatively with assisting program staff to ensure the goals of the program are achieved and participants’ needs are met.
The hours are Tuesdays at the Addison location (1770 W. Centennial Pl.) from 8:30am-3:30pm and Fridays at the Lombard location (820 Finley Rd.) from 8:15am-3:15pm.
Additional responsibilities include meeting with the program coordinator to plan activities, manage program budget and provide program status reports. The program leader will be trained to drive our 15 passenger program vans. The program leader is also responsible for sharing the job duty of transporting program participants in an agency vehicle during program hours. The chosen applicant must be able to carry equipment up to 35 pounds for up to 100 feet as well as lift equipment/participants up to 50 pounds. This is a part- time position with the expectation of working 14-20 hours per week. Applicant must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License and possess or be eligible to receive CPR/First Aid certification.
Salary: $17.00/hour
