What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Runner position at Nectar Hilton Head?
Ensures quality and proper presentation of food in a timely manner; that food orders are prepared and assembled quickly according to recipes and procedures to avoid waste; and that the line is always stocked, neat, clean and safe.
- Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Nectar Hilton Head. oCarry food, dishes, trays, or silverware from kitchens or supply areas to tables.
- Read tickets and prepare, to order, all food items following standard recipes and procedures within specified time limits. oPrepare recipes and plate presentations, correctly set up according to tickets.
- Pass out food dishes to guests by seat number. oLocate items requested by guests.
- Prepare assigned food items. Wash and clean raw food products. Peel, dice, shred and slice food products used for garnishments. oClean up spilled food or drink or broken dishes and remove trash.
- Serve food to guests when servers need assistance. oMaintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, or trays.
- Clean and polish counters, shelves, walls, furniture, or equipment in food service areas or other areas of the restaurant, and mop or vacuum floors. oStock garnishments, condiments and other items on expo.
- Respond appropriately to guest requests, and communicate guest requests to server as needed. oAttend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
- Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Able to understand and speak using the predominant language(s) of guests oAble to read food tickets in English
- Able to work in a standing and walking position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours) oAble to bend, stoop, reach, carry and lift objects up to 50 lbs. frequently
- Able to maneuver between tables and narrow spaces with ease
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
