About Elev X! Elev X! is NEC X's venture studio program, dedicated to investing in and scaling early-stage tech startups. Backed by NEC — a global tech giant with over $20B in revenue, 125 years of innovation, and 45,000 patents — Elev X! provides hands-on support to propel startups from idea to impact.
About the Role This internship supports the day-to-day operations of the Elev X! Ignite program, with a focus on startup application management, evaluation, and selection. You'll work cross-functionally with our team and external stakeholders, getting real hands-on exposure to how a Silicon Valley venture studio operates.
Depending on your location, you may also help plan, promote, and run founder-facing events in Boston, NY, Palo Alto, and Vancouver.
What You'll Do
- Manage the application system, screen startups, and communicate with applicants
- Coordinate pitch sessions, assign reviewers, and track evaluations
- Support selection committee logistics and onboard selected founders
- Conduct market research and assess startups against program criteria
- Help prepare reports, presentations, and internal documentation
- Contribute to an operations manual and suggest process improvements
- Support event planning, promotion, and execution for founder events (location-dependent)
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in an MBA or graduate program (Business, Entrepreneurship, Engineering, CS, or related)
- Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Team-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Notion; familiarity with Calendly and video conferencing tools
- Experience or strong interest in startups, innovation programs, or venture ecosystems
- Japanese speakers are especially welcome
