Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of financial management principles. The Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Duties
- Prepare and maintain accurate journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
- Conduct financial audits to ensure compliance with SOX regulations and internal policies.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Jobber for efficient financial management.
- Perform double entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide support on technical accounting issues.
- Monitor cash flow and assist in budgeting processes to optimize financial performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of financial management practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly PeopleSoft and Xero.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance, financial auditing, and technical accounting principles.
- Strong skills in double entry bookkeeping and general ledger reconciliation.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication skills.
