Nebraska Medicine includes two hospitals, the state's largest and highest rated Nebraska Medical Center and Bellevue Medical Center, along with more than 70 primary care and specialty clinics. This is a non-paid clinical experience that is a supplement to the requirements of your academic program. Per Nebraska Medicine policy and academic partner accreditation guidelines, students and their institutions should NOT directly contact potential preceptors. As there are many factors that are considered for placement, we can not guarantee a specific preceptor request. All placements must start with the application request to be considered and reviewed. Most applications must be submitted at least 1 month in advance of the anticipated start date of your placement (some exceptions apply such as for Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner student placement requests). If your institution does not have an affiliation agreement with Nebraska Medicine, it is recommended to apply at least 3 months in advance of the anticipated start date.
