Nebraska Wesleyan University (NWU) is seeking candidates for the Head Football Coach with vision, the passion, and the leadership to reignite a proud football tradition! This isn't just a coaching job; it's a chance to build something special and lead our program into its next era of excellence. This is 12-month full-time, year-round benefit eligible position. Candidates will be joining a storied athletic department that ranks 13th in NCAA for Academic All-Americans among all divisions and 3rd in NCAA III (6th among all divisions) for NCAA Postgrad Scholarships.
Selected candidates will report to the Athletic Director and will be asked to perform a secondary job duty at the discretion of the university and within the skill set of qualified applicants.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to build a competitive NCAA Division III football program aligned with NWU's mission and values.
- Promote a culture of excellence, integrity, accountability, and respect within the program.
- Recruit and retain student-athletes who demonstrate academic commitment, athletic ability, and strong character through attending recruiting events, recruit evaluations, emails/mailings/phone calls, and on-campus visits.
- Plan, organize, and lead daily practice sessions while developing skills for student athletes, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Conduct film breakdown sessions for strategizing with coaching staff.
- Coordinate with the strength and conditioning staff to develop appropriate athlete conditioning curriculum.
- Build and provide individualized development plans for student-athletes which foster growth athletically, academically, and socially.
- Monitor academic performance and collaborate with academic support staff to ensure eligibility and progress toward graduation.
- Assist in the development and delivery of the NWU Football leadership values and ensure that short- and long-term objectives are in line with university and program goals.
- Recruit, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches and support staff.
- Manage program budgets responsibly, ensuring compliance with institutional financial policies.
- Coordinate travel, scheduling, equipment, and facility use in collaboration with Athletics administration
- Actively engage in community outreach and fundraising efforts to support program growth and visibility.
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
- Five years of collegiate coaching experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to recruit, mentor, and develop student-athletes.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Demonstrated computer skills and ability to work with Hudl, PowerPoint, and ARI.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with students, faculty, and the general public.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and success in working with a variety of people will build strong, long-term relationships with student-athletes, students and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, time management, and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and handle high pressure situations.
- Ability to travel frequently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
