Patient Access Coordinator

Nebraska Spine and Pain Center
Omaha, NE Full Time
POSTED ON 9/14/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/14/2026
The Role:

You're the first voice our patients hear and the person who keeps a physician's, advanced practice providers, and physical therapist day running on time. Every call you answer, every appointment you schedule, and every insurance detail you verify sets the tone for a patient's entire experience with us. If you like solving problems on the fly and want a job where your organization skills actually matter to people's health care, this is it.

What you'll do:
  • Answer incoming calls and give patients a genuinely helpful first impression
  • Register new patients and keep demographic information current for established ones
  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments, and keep physician schedules accurate so every patient gets seen
  • Verify insurance eligibility before appointments happen, not after
  • Manage incoming and outgoing referrals, including logging and correspondence
  • Work with patients, physicians, and staff at outside facilities to keep information moving accurately and on time
  • Prep documentation for upcoming visits and request outside records and images ahead of time
  • Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient confidentiality in every interaction
  • Work a daily task list and keep on top of it
  • Help grow patient portal participation
  • Support Telehealth patients with scheduling and setup
  • Scan medical records for new patients ahead of their visits
  • Send new patient paperwork through Health Asyst and walk patients through any technical hiccups

What we're looking for:

Someone who stays calm on a busy phone line, pays attention to detail, and treats every patient interaction like it matters, because it does. Prior medical office or scheduling experience helps, but a strong work ethic and a real interest in patient care go a long way too.

Apply today and join a team that sees you.

Requirements

Position Requirements:
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly with patients, providers, and staff
  • Comfortable juggling multiple tasks and priorities in a fast paced clinic environment
  • Ability to sit for extended periods
