Material Controller - CNS
Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Material Controller - CNS located at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska. Position closes May 12, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for overall accuracy and verification of inventory. Responsible for performing an array of duties in a Warehouse setting, such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock and other assigned duties.
Education, Training and Experience
High School Diploma/GED and two years nuclear power plant experience or two years warehousing, distribution or receiving related experience required. Experience operating a forklift or other warehouse related equipment desired. Knowledge of an inventory management system preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain control of and accurately release all classifications of warehoused nuclear material and spare parts.
Unload and load freight shipments and/or deliveries.
Tag material accurately for proper nuclear safety classification of essential and non-essential.
Responsible for accurate verification of physical inventory.
Receive and validate materials for accuracy and ensure the quality of materials, parts and components.
Housekeeping and general maintenance of warehouse and equipment, including use of mop/broom/vacuum, etc.
Store nuclear material and spare parts by size, quantity, safety classification, and system for long- or short-term storage in the appropriate environments.
Perform in-storage maintenance as required.
Operate essential equipment required to perform the responsibilities of the position. Truck, Cushman, Forklift, Hand Carts, Computer, etc.
Accountable for other duties as assigned.

Pay Grade - 9 Hourly
Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $25.70 - $32.13

Salary
Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth. In addition to the base salary listed in posting, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range.
Retirement Savings
NPPD employees may participate in two retirement plan options – a 401(k) plan and a 457(b) plan. Both plans allow for pre-tax or Roth contributions. After the first six months of employment, the 401(k) plan includes a generous matching contribution from NPPD. The five-year vesting period begins on an employee’s hire date. Our retired employees are eligible for retiree healthcare benefits as well as a life benefit paid out to designated beneficiaries upon their passing.

Salary : $26 - $32
