What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Operator position at Nebraska Nitrogen?
JOB SUMMARY / OVERVIEW
Operators are responsible for ensuring the safe and appropriate operation of the ammonia processing equipment and performing routine basic maintenance in a highly automated chemical facility. Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance, basic repair, and cleaning of all equipment associated with site processes. Individuals in this position are required to maintain knowledge of the process flow, computerized equipment, and be aware of hazards associated with the process as well as understand and execute standard operating procedures (SOPs). Continuous plant operation requires 12-hour shift work rotating days and nights. Operators must be able to adapt to 12-hour workdays and be able to meet call-in requirements as needed.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/ OR TRAINING
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a respirator fit test
- Ability to stand/walk 6 or more hours per day
- Bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Experience in a process plant environment is a plus
- Experience with ammonia, fertilizer, or nitrogen plant a plus
- Ability to read and understand P&ID’s and equipment manuals is a plus
- Control Systems/DCS experience is a plus

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
