SUMMARY:
Educare Lincoln is a collaborative partnership between the Lincoln Public Schools (LPS), University of Nebraska – Lincoln (UNL), Early Head Start (EHS), and the Buffett Early Childhood Fund. The mission of Educare Lincoln is to help young children thrive socially, emotionally, and academically through high-quality early childhood education, and in partnership with their families and the community. The EHS program (ages 6 weeks to 3 years) and the preschool program (ages 3 years to 5 years) promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of evidence-based education, health, nutritional, social, and other services to enrolled children and their families.
The Workforce Coordinator is responsible for general oversight of marketing and employee satisfaction and retention efforts. The Workforce Coordinator will: 1) lead and oversee the intern program and Child Development Associate (CDA) certification completion process, 2) maintain working relationships with community partners, 3) support employee training and retention, 4) develop a marketing plan and create marketing materials, and 5) collect, analyze, and provide impact reports on relevant data.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY TASKS:
CDA Certification
- Manage and track the CDA completion process for staff members who are obtaining the certification.
- Lead and oversee Educare’s teacher aide intern program.
Community Partnerships
- Develop and maintain a working relationship with all Child Care Partnerships (CPP) within the community.
- Identify and participate in community events and committees, as appropriate.
- Represent Educare at community events to help increase partnership opportunities and strengthen Educare’s community presence.
Employee Retention and Development
- Support employee retention by collaborating with Educare leadership during the new employee onboarding/orientation process at all Educare and Beyond the Walls locations.
- Identify trends in employee turnover rates and develop strategies to reduce staff turnover.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify gaps in employee training and develop strategies to close knowledge gaps.
- Maintain professional knowledge of relevant training, webinars, courses, and other opportunities that aid in professional development and growth.
Marketing/Graphic Design
- Develop and execute a data-driven marketing plan that promotes Educare programs, drives engagement, and aligns with the mission and strategic plan of Educare.
- Collaborate with leadership to increase Educare’s social media presence and complete website updates.
- Identify external partnerships to strengthen Educare’s brand.
- Develop, design, and approve all Educare-branded marketing materials, including printed materials and other promotional items.
- Work with the leadership team to understand and adhere to Educare’s marketing, community engagement, and operational budget to identify and report on cost saving opportunities for the organization.
Reports and Data
- Track and report on marketing, community outreach, and staff engagement and retention efforts.
Other
- Perform other duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Resources Management, Marketing, Graphic Design, or related field required.
- At least one year of experience facilitating professional development and/or employee retention efforts required.
- Prior experience in marketing, data analytics, and community engagement preferred.
- Prior experience working in a center-based Early Childhood Program preferred.
- At least one year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Driver’s license and automobile insurance required.
- Must be able to pass a background check that meets compliance standards.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal requirements and standards for child care programs serving children ages 0-5 years.
- Knowledge of principles and best practices of early childhood education and community engagement.
- Knowledge of childcare state licensing requirements.
- Knowledge of basic principles and practices of data-driven program management, employee retention and organizational marketing and promotion.
- Ability to leverage data to identify trends and compile impact reports.
- Ability to identify community partnership opportunities.
- Ability to represent Educare in a professional manner.
- Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, as well as in a public-speaking setting.
- Familiarity with community engagement along with knowledge of community resources and services.
- Strong organization skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities.
- Ability to collaboratively problem-solve, develop program proposals, and use data to drive work and make informed decisions.
- Ability to maintain boundaries and perform all duties in an ethical and professional manner.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability and willingness to travel within the Lincoln metro area for work purposes.
- Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification.
