Overview
Seeking 4-8 new staff to start by July 1, 2026. We are adding a new small group home for 2-3 developmentally disabled youth and need to staff all positions to cover 24/7/365 care.
Nebraska Care Givers (NCG) is a Nebraska DHHS-certified agency providing services for developmentally disabled persons. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor residents’ health by observing patient conditions and reporting changes to healthcare teams promptly.
- Support medication administration and care plan implementation in accordance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare protocols.
- Some positions may prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal service to promote proper nutrition and hydration.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to infection control standards.
- Engage residents in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to enhance their quality of life.
- Document care activities accurately, including patient observations, progress notes, and incident reports to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including first aid, CPR/AED certification, and medication administration is essential.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism enhances your ability to provide personalized support.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks required for patient mobility assistance.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams, residents, and families while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
