This position is responsible for obtaining pre-authorization from insurance payors for medications/treatments, radiology testing, laboratory procedures, and pathology testing prior to being rendered. The incumbent will ensure authorization information is accurately relayed to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.

Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- At least 2 years’ experience in a medical billing office is required; oncology is preferred
- Must have working knowledge of third party billing requirements to ensure appropriate authorizations are completed.
- Must have knowledge of guideline resources used to guide treatment and procedure approvals (National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Local Coverage Determination (LCD).
- Must have general working knowledge of insurance plans, CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, medical terminology, and HIPAA
- Proficient with Microsoft office
