Position Overview:
As a leader in workplace injury prevention, we are seeking a skilled and passionate Injury Prevention Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a direct and meaningful impact by developing, implementing, and overseeing programs that reduce injury risk, keep employees healthy, and help them stay on the job.
As an Injury Prevention Specialist, you will play a crucial role in designing and managing injury prevention programs that bring services directly into the workplace. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential injury risks, create preventive measures, and provide education and hands-on support to employees. Your expertise in early intervention, ergonomics, and safe work techniques will help build a safer work environment and promote the long-term health of our workforce.
Qualifications (Must hold one of the following):
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
- Kinesiologist
- Certified Athletic Trainer
- Licensed Massage Therapist
- Occupational Therapist Assistant
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, occupational health, and safety personnel, to assess injury risks and develop comprehensive injury prevention programs.
- Design and implement onsite services to prevent workplace injuries, including stretching programs and ergonomics assessments.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of employees' physical abilities and identify potential limitations or risk factors.
- Develop personalized injury prevention triage and provide hands-on interventions to address employees' needs and prevent injuries.
- Deliver educational programs and training sessions to employees on proper body mechanics, ergonomics, and injury prevention techniques.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments of workstations and recommend adjustments or modifications to optimize employee comfort and safety.
- Collaborate with external healthcare professionals, such as physicians and occupational therapists, to coordinate care and referrals as needed.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in injury prevention techniques to continuously improve the onsite programs.
- Maintain accurate records of employee assessments, treatment plans, and program outcomes.
Requirements:
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Current state license or certification in one of the listed fields
- - Proven experience in healthcare, preferably with a focus on occupational health or injury prevention.
- Knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, biomechanics, and ergonomics.
- Experience in developing and implementing injury prevention programs, including stretching routines, ergonomics assessments, and exercise protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively educate and motivate employees on injury prevention strategies.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess injury risks and develop appropriate plans and preventive measures.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, fostering strong relationships with members at all levels.
- Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
