This position will be working at NEBCO Concrete Materials, a new subsidiary of NEBCO, Inc. This subsidiary operates the terminal located near 18th & 'Y' Street, adjacent to NEBCO's OL&B Railway and Ready Mixed Concrete 'Y' Street Plant. This terminal stores, handles, and transports bulk materials used in the production of ready mixed concrete and concrete/block hardscapes.

Position Summary
We are seeking a Tanker Truck Driver to operate gasoline or diesel-powered tractor trailer combination to transport and deliver product and/or materials to various plants in Lincoln and surrounding areas. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Drives truck to destination applying commercial driving (DOT) regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations.

Secures loads to flatbed trailer using straps, chains &/or tarps.

Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition

Maintains driver log according to DOT regulations.

Inspects truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water. 

May perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires or tire chains.

Assists workers, sometimes by operating forklift, to load and unload trucks.

Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:   

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and
• 1 year trailer tractor or related commercial vehicle driving experience; or
• or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement

Other Qualifications:    

• Must be able to work according to seasonal and order demand schedule.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Other Skills and Abilities:

• Minimal math skills required.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.

Work Environment:  While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.  This is a tobacco free campus and work environment.
