Position Summary
Skills & Attributes Needed
The following skills and attributes are needed to be successful in your banking career as a Retail Loan Underwriter:
- Understanding of state, CFPB and OCC regulations to ensure all documentation is accurate and falls within legal guidelines preferred but not required.
- Must be able to work independently, accurately and maintain good customer relations with the ability to adapt to varying customer and transactional volume. Must be able to quickly re-establish priorities, responding to the changing needs of the department.
- Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal forms.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:
- 3–7 years of mortgage or retail loan underwriting experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (or equivalent experience or industry certifications) is preferred
- Encompass or similar Loan Origination System experience.
