Job Description:
Are you an experienced diesel technician ready for a new opportunity? Come join the Neat team! This is a 2nd shift position from 3 pm - 11 pm.
Duties
- Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests
- Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules
- Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems
- Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems and complies with federal and state vehicle requirements.
- Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
- Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Contains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options
- Other duties as needed
Requirements:
- A Certified Diesel Technician desirable, but not necessary
- Must be dependable with attention to detail, excellent verbal communication along with documentation skills
- Must stay up to date with job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical and regulation publications
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking, with the ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
- Ability to listen, understand and follow directions
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the area
- Steel-toed boots are required with a $150 reimbursement annually
