The Opportunity
Nearwater Capital is seeking an experienced Onboarding Business Manager to manage and coordinate the onboarding of new counterparties and products across the various platform functions. You will serve as the central point of connection across origination, operations, finance, trading, legal, risk, and other internal teams to ensure counterparties are thoughtfully onboarded and operationally ready to transact. You will also oversee the post-trade lifecycle in support of ongoing client relationships, proactively flagging risks or issues and partnering with internal teams to drive timely resolution.
What You’ll Do
- Own and coordinate the onboarding of new counterparties, coordinating efforts across origination, operations, finance, trading, legal, risk, and other stakeholders.
- Act as the central point of accountability for onboarding activity, ensuring alignment, sequencing, and follow-through across teams.
- Manage onboarding timelines, milestones, dependencies, and readiness to transact.
- Compile requirements, data, and other relevant information for each onboarding related to the tasks and processes needed to be set up across multiple departments.
- Work with Origination to understand, in high detail, the processes and flows related to a new transaction or counterparty.
- Coordinate the approval process of a new product or a new counterparty to the Management Risk Committee
- Coordinate with external counterparties and clients to ensure that all the necessary pipes and connections between themselves and Nearwater have been made successfully to commence transacting.
- Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks, risks, or gaps in the onboarding process. Provide informed, data-driven recommendations on how to improve our process.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with internal stakeholders on status, progress, and next steps.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to ensure that internal stakeholders are aligned on the transaction details that have been negotiated and memorialized in legal documentation.
- Ensure internal teams are prepared ahead of go-live or first transaction.
- Contribute to the ongoing refinement of onboarding workflows, processes, and best practices as the firm scales.
What We’re Looking For
- 7 years experience in onboarding, launch management, operations, or cross-functional coordination within financial services. Experience in Prime Brokerage client onboarding coordinating is a plus.
- Background in private credit, asset management, banking, trading, prime brokerage, or a related environment preferred.
- Technical understanding of transaction lifecycle in one or more asset classes. (Equity, Fixed Income, Equity OTC Derivatives, Rates OTC derivatives, PB, Credit, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder processes end-to-end.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Conceptual understanding of Pre and Post execution flows and processes in one or more assets classes (Equity, Fixed income, Credit)
- Experience with project management / tracking software which consumes and utilizes data and information across multiple departments and stakeholders.
- Proven effectiveness navigating ambiguity and building structure.
- Proven experience with external institutional client communication and interaction
- Clear, confident communicator comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Strong judgment, attention to detail, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
- Experience and comfort operating in a growing, dynamic, fast paced environment.
