Summary
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with a strong background in warehouse management systems, transportation coordination, labor management, KPI execution, and process improvement initiatives. Experienced in managing supervisors, driving accountability, and maintaining service-level agreements while optimizing productivity and shipping accuracy.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the Operations leadership team to execute operational strategies and achieve business objectives.
- Lead and develop supervisors and department leaders by providing coaching, performance feedback and training.
- Drive accountability for operational performance through regular review of productivity, quality, inventory, safety, and service-level metrics.
- Oversee transportation and logistics activities to ensure timely inbound and outbound shipments and customer delivery requirements are met.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts to resolve operational issues, inventory variances, customer concerns, and process inefficiencies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices to drive consistency and operational excellence.
- Monitor labor utilization, staffing levels, and workforce scheduling to ensure efficient operations and achievement of productivity goals.
- Support the implementation of new systems, technologies, processes, and business initiatives to improve operational performance and scalability.
- Ensure operational readiness during periods of growth, peak demand, and organizational change by proactively planning resources and workflows.
- Provide regular operational updates, performance analysis, and recommendations regarding opportunities, risks, and operational challenges.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive leadership experience in a high-volume distribution, warehouse, manufacturing, or supply chain environment.
- Proven success leading multiple operational departments and managing large teams.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, warehouse operations, production planning, and logistics.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in ERP, WMS, and Microsoft Office applications.
Working Conditions
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and movement throughout warehouse and production areas.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to meet operational demands and business objectives.
