We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Special Needs Physical Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where students of all abilities can develop physical skills, confidence, teamwork, and a love for movement.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement adaptive PE lessons tailored to students’ individual needs and abilities
Foster a positive and supportive learning environment
Collaborate with special education staff, therapists, and families
Monitor student progress and encourage participation and growth
Ensure student safety during all activities
NEARI is a twelve month day school for learning disabled, emotionally disturbed, neurologically challenged and mental health students ages 7-22.
NEARI seeks teachers in Special Education with subject area experience to work in it’s elementary program. Creative lesson planning, strong classroom management and the ability to provide a structured environment are essential. NEARI places a premium on relationship capacity and looks for staff with strong relational skills, warmth, engagement and firm limits. NEARI has a strong brain-based approach to learning and behavior management and the successful candidate should be open to learning about this very exciting methodology.
