Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, brushing, hair trimming, styling, and pet coat styling tailored to each dog’s breed and individual needs
- Handle animals safely and compassionately using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and safety during grooming procedures
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and provide expert advice on pet coat care and maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organized grooming station, including sanitation of tools and work area to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist with pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other grooming-related health checks to promote overall pet wellness
- Manage kennel areas when necessary, ensuring pets are comfortable and secure during their stay or grooming process
- Collaborate with veterinary staff or veterinary technicians if additional medical or health concerns are identified during grooming
Requirements
- Proven experience as a professional dog groomer with a strong portfolio of pet styling skills
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is highly desirable
- Background in veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles, with familiarity in animal care practices such as animal handling, animal restraint, and pet sitting
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely as required for handling large dogs or equipment
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners and team members effectively
- Experience working with animals in settings such as kennels or shelters is a plus
- Strong customer service orientation with a positive attitude toward client interactions
- Physical stamina for standing long hours, bending, lifting heavy pets or equipment, and performing detailed grooming tasks
