Position Summary
The goal of the Specialist, Shipping and Receiving, is to execute, coordinate, and monitor global shipments (inbound and outbound) in compliance with applicable customs regulations, global standards, and specifications for the shipment of dangerous goods.
In addition, this role evaluates various carriers in terms of cost and quality and selects the best transportation forwarder. The Specialist serves as the first point of contact for all shipping and receiving-related topics within the company when the Senior Specialist is unavailable.

Position Summary

Qualifications & Education
- Vocational training, apprenticeship, or similar education in Logistics, Shipping & Receiving, or a related field is required.
- Certification in transportation of dangerous goods (ground, ocean, and air) is required.
- Certification to operate forklifts and overhead cranes is required.
- Certification in customs and foreign trade is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in shipping and receiving is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience handling customs clearances (e.g., customs tariff numbers) is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in export control (screening, embargo, dual-use regulations) is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience handling claim management, including general knowledge of liability and insurance, is required.
- Must be proficient in spoken and written English as well as the local language.
- Experience working in an international and culturally diverse environment is preferred.
- Basic experience creating appropriate documentation and driving continuous improvement processes.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Teams.
- Basic knowledge of SharePoint.
- Basic knowledge of resource planning software (e.g., Planout).
- Intermediate knowledge of online courier systems (UPS, FedEx, DHL).
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Intermediate knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Intermediate knowledge of online customs applications and forms (e.g., EZT).
- Works in a warehouse environment.
- Frequent work in a shop/field environment.
- Occasional work in outdoor weather conditions (hot, wet, or cold).
- Occasional work near mechanical and environmental noise.
- Occasional work in high or precarious places.
- Occasional domestic and/or international travel.
- Frequent requirement to lift or carry up to 50 lbs. (22.75 kg).
