What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician I - Island Oaks RV Resort position at NDM Hospitality Services?
Maintenance Tech I performs basic maintenance to short term for short term rental cabins and RV sites. Primarily responsible for preventive maintenance and supporting roles.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete maintenance inspections and reports for short term rental cabins
- Delivery, pickup, maintenance and inventory of rental equipment
- Follow guidelines for comprehensive inspection of short term rental cabins
- Follow guidelines and perform preventive maintenance on short term rental cabins
- Identify and report faults in structural, cosmetic, mechanical, and trim out of short term rental cabins
- Correct minor faults in rental homes including but not limited to:
- Patch Drywall
- Paint
- Change Light bulbs
- Adjust doors and cabinets
- Furniture Repair
- Troubleshoot and Repair-TV/Internet/Phone
- Minor Plumbing Repair
- Minor Electrical Repair
- Minor Appliance Repair
- Pool Troubleshooting
- Blind and Curtain Repair
- HVAC Troubleshooting
- Report and document all daily activities to Maintenance Supervisor/Manager
REQUIRED Competencies (skills, attributes, experience, licenses, certifications, required)
- High School Diploma
- Hospitality experience
- Experience in construction regarding residential and commercial properties
- Ability to work with hand and power tools
- Flexible long hours are sometimes required including weekends, holidays, and hours exceeding 40
- Stand and work outdoors for long hours in various environments
- Effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of
- employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner
- Effective listening to understand and clarify concerns raised by employees, homeowners and guests
- Must have the flexibility to be on-call at certain times.
- Excellent customer service skills in person and via the phone
- Able to communicate, written and oral, in English, Bilingual preferred
- Able to lift up to 75lbs
- Able to walk long distances
- Self-starter with the ability to self-teach.
- Multitask with effective time management and prioritization
- Maintain confidentiality of information
PREFERRED competencies & qualifications
- Display anticipatory guest service and preventive problem solving
- Understand and apply complex information and data from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
