Land Surveyor

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Land Surveyor to join our team. This role is responsible for performing field surveys, collecting accurate site data, and assisting in the preparation of maps, plats, and reports. Experience with drone (UAS) surveying is a plus. A professional surveying license is required. This role is onsite in Virginia Beach, VA.

Role and Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys using GPS, total stations, data collectors, and other surveying equipment
• Perform boundary, topographic, construction layout, and as built surveys
• Execute drone-based surveys, including mission planning, flight operations, data capture, and postprocessing
• Collect, process, and verify survey data with accuracy and attention to detail
• Assist in preparing survey drawings, maps, legal descriptions, point clouds, orthomosaics, and related documentation
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field crews to ensure project requirements are met
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and properly store all survey and drone equipment
• Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company safety protocols
• Support licensed surveyors and senior staff with project related tasks
  
  

Qualifications And Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field is a plus
• Experience in land surveying or construction layout preferred
• Familiarity with drones/UAS technology, photogrammetry, or LiDAR workflows is a plus
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or willingness to obtain one
• Ability to read and interpret plans, maps, and legal descriptions
• Strong math, problem solving, and spatial reasoning skills
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• LSIT/PLS license required
• Must be a US Citizen
