Ruth Meiers Adolescent Center is seeking a Youth Residential Direct Care Associate in the Grand Forks, ND area.

Shift Hours: Shift hours are 7:00 AM- 3:30 PM, 3:00 PM- 11:30 PM, and 11:00 PM- 7:30 AM, this position is hiring for a 40 hour a week PM shift. Also, includes every other weekend rotation.

As a Direct Care Associate III working with youth in a residential setting, you will provide positive mentoring and guidance to young people impacted by behavioral health disorders. You will serve as a role model, exhibiting a positive and respectful approach in all interactions. You will teach daily living activities, including household tasks, hygiene tasks, effective communication, and socialization with the goal of helping those you serve increase their independence.

An important part of this position is assisting the youth to articulate their goals and what is important for them. You will teach self-advocacy and self-help strategies to assist the youth in reaching their goals.

You will thrive in this position if you have a passion for teaching young people life skills and how to overcome barriers that may be present in their lives.

To be considered for the DCA III position, you must be 21 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED; and two years of work experience providing direct care to special populations.

  • Will consider filling this position as a Direct Care Associate II, which requires you must be 21 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED.

This position requires a valid driver's license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.

Location
This position provides essential client services face to face and therefore the person in this position needs to be able to travel to meet clients at their location.
