Roughrider North Human Service Zone - Child Protection Support Specialist - Dickinson, ND
Roughrider North Human Service Zone is seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Protection Support Specialist for the Child Welfare Team to support Child Welfare Services. Our mission is to serve children and families by providing advocacy, resources, and education while promoting stability and community connections.
Child Protection Support Specialist duties include but are not limited to:
- Document CPS assessments
- Complete appropriate documentation for reports of suspected abuse/neglect completed by an assigned CPS worker utilizing tools gained through training & policy.
- Transcribe interviews with children, parents, collaterals, educators & other professionals or supports that regularly interface with families, into written form.
- Using information provided by the CPS worker, effectively translate parent's protective capacities & children's vulnerability into the appropriate document.
- Understand present & impending danger & plans to mitigate danger, including in home safety plans, out of home safety plans, and foster care placement to be able to document that appropriately where needed.
- Complete necessary paperwork in accordance with law & policy in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. Be flexible to shift priorities as needed in accordance with timeliness.
To succeed in this position, you must have a passion for serving others and a commitment to making a positive impact. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations. A thorough understanding of program policies and laws is required, as well as proficiency in various software and database applications with a willingness to learn new technology. Attention to detail, strong decision-making abilities, and strict adherence to state and federal regulations are critical.
To be considered for this position, you must have a bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development and family science, behavioral health, nursing (bachelor level degree) or criminal justice.
Must maintain valid driver's license and auto insurance.
The successful applicant must pass a standard background, motor vehicle, and criminal record check.
