Job Summary
ND Global Consulting Services, Inc. (NDGCS) is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health for an onsite direct hire opportunity in Brooklyn, New York.
Must Have: Candidates must have experience managing a psych unit in a hospital.
The ideal candidate will have strong behavioral health leadership experience, a solid psychiatric clinical background, and the ability to oversee unit operations, staff performance, patient care quality, and regulatory compliance in a hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the behavioral health unit
- Lead nursing staff and support interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure high-quality patient care
- Monitor admissions, discharges, and discharge planning for appropriate clinical management
- Ensure compliance with facility policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards
- Support performance improvement initiatives and quality outcomes across the unit
- Prepare and review reports related to clinical operations, patient care, and regulatory compliance
- Assist with staffing oversight, scheduling coordination, administrative coverage, and department operations
- Maintain readiness for surveys, audits, and inspections by regulatory and accrediting bodies
- Promote best practices, professional development, and a culture of accountability and respect
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
- BSN required
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in psychiatry / behavioral health
- Minimum 2 years of leadership or management experience
- Required: Experience managing a psych unit in a hospital
- Strong leadership, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with quality improvement, compliance, and performance management in a healthcare setting
- Comfortable using EMR systems and other healthcare technology platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing
- Prior experience in hospital-based behavioral health leadership
- Experience supporting regulatory survey readiness and compliance initiatives
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- ACLS
- Crisis management training such as PMCS or TRUST, if applicable
Work Environment
- Onsite role in Brooklyn, NY
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Leadership responsibility for unit operations and patient care standards
Pay: $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
