Job Description – Career Services Manager

Supervisor – Director of the Center for Women

The Career Services Manager coordinates with the NCJW/Essex Linda and Rudy Slucker Center for Women (“CFW”) Case Manager to provide a continuum of services for CFW clients, including Displaced Homemakers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Client Support

· Provide Career Services to Assist CFW clients who are in need of job training or placement

· Create a client-driven Career goals/vocational plan of action with each client

· Provide client assistance with analyzing career skills, resume writing, interview skills, job search skills and more to support client’s career goals

· Create and invite CFW clients to networking events

· Co-Facilitate job development groups

· Facilitate job development and self-empowerment groups

· Communicate relevant career opportunities to clients

· Support and coordinate volunteers to process client intakes, questions and referrals; assign clients as appropriate

Program Administration

· Identify, maintain, and publicize job search leads, educational opportunities, job trainings, career development opportunities, and placement opportunities

· Develop and maintain employer email listings

· Identify community resources that offer job trainings and job opportunities

· Utilize professional career search engines and other internet resources

· Coordinate with employers and employment agencies to generate employment opportunities

· Draft Essex County Community Development Block Grant monthly reports and assist with other CFW grants, funding sources, reporting and compliance as requested

· Maintain database on client statistics, such as job placement and training, employer statistics, client progress reports, program participation, etc. including inputting data for other CFW staff persons

· Create CFW computer class schedules, set curriculum, recruit instructors, host classes, administer and distribute licenses and record attendance

· Build awareness of NCJW/Essex and the CFW programs and services in the community while attending conferences, workshops or other community/business development meetings

· Increase the number of new CFW clients by creating awareness of CFW services available to the community

· Revise and update CFW materials in consultation with Director of the CFW

· Attend events and represent NCJW/Essex as requested by supervisor

General:

· Provide staff support for NCJW/Essex members as appropriate

· Follow all NCJW/Essex policy and procedures

· Professionally represent NCJW/Essex in the community

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· Strong commitment to and passion for the mission of NCJW/Essex

· 4-year degree required and master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or related field preferred; however, relevant work experience such as a Recruiter, HR Generalist, Career Coach, Employment Agency Career Counselor, College Career Counselor or other will be considered

· High level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills

· Strong working knowledge of job search strategies

· Experience facilitating discussions in a public forum

· Experience facilitating workshops and seminars

· Experience working with and cultivating volunteers

· Computer/internet proficiency, including working remotely

· Experience working with a CRM-type database, experience with Salesforce a plus

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Strong organizational skills, including flexibility to handle multiple tasks

· Strong problem-solving skills and analytical ability

· Energetic, creative and self-motivated

· Experience working for or with nonprofits desired

Salary and Benefits:
This position is part-time at 24 hours/week and can be flexible to a qualified candidate’s schedule. The starting wage is up to $25/hour. NCJW/Essex offers vacation, sick leave, personal days, paid holidays, a flexible spending account and 403B retirement plan to eligible employees.
