Recovery Outreach Coordinator Opportunity:
The Recovery Outreach Coordinator supports individuals in recovery by coordinating outreach, housing, sober living, and recovery support services within the community. This position serves as a liaison between clients, community partners, treatment providers, and criminal justice agencies to promote successful recovery outcomes and housing stability. Responsibilities include screening and assessing applicants, coordinating referrals and placements, providing case management and recovery support, facilitating community resource connections, and overseeing operations related to North Central Health Care’s recovery housing programs. The Recovery Outreach Coordinator works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure individuals receive appropriate services, support, accountability, and opportunities to achieve independent living and sustained recovery.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The starting pay ranges from $26.92 - $29.31 per hour based on experience and education.
- This role is full-time and in person, usually working weekday business hours.

What Qualifies You:
Required:
- Associate’s Degree in Human Services, Mental Health, Substance Use Services, or a related field.
- More than 1 year of experience in housing services, case management, recovery services, or a related human services field.
- Must meet all eligibility requirements for access to and work within correctional facility environments, including not having been incarcerated in the Marathon County Jail within the past 3 years and not having been under probation or community supervision through Lincoln County Jail within the past 3 years.
- Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license and maintain unrestricted driving privileges throughout employment and have use of a personal vehicle.
- Must meet and continue to meet all requirements for insurability under the organization's vehicle insurance policy.
- Must be authorized to operate any vehicle and transport clients, patients, or staff as required by the position.
- Ability to travel throughout the service area and utilize a personal vehicle for work-related activities.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Substance Use Counseling, or a related field.
- Current Wisconsin SAC-IT, SAC, CSAC credential, licensed mental health professional credential, or other relevant recovery-related certification.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in housing services, case management, recovery support, outreach, or community-based human services.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing substance use disorders, housing instability, homelessness, or involvement with the criminal justice system.

What a Recovery Outreach Coordinator does at NCHC:
- Coordinates and supports grant activities by utilizing strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills to ensure compliance with grant requirements and the accurate, timely completion of all related tasks and documentation.
- Screen, interview, and assess applicants for recovery housing and sober living programs to determine eligibility and appropriateness for services.
- Coordinate referrals, intake processes, placement activities, and transitions into recovery housing programs.
- Serve as an NCHC AODA community outreach liaison attending community events to educate and establish contacts within the community.
- Oversees the operations of recovery housing locations and provides training, guidance, and support to House Managers to ensure consistent program implementation and compliance with established standards.
- Support individuals in obtaining and maintaining safe, stable housing and recovery-focused living environments.
- Provide case management, recovery support, accountability, and independent living skills coaching to program participants.
- Conduct regular meetings with residents to review progress, identify barriers, establish goals, and support successful recovery outcomes.
- Assist individuals in accessing treatment services, behavioral health resources, employment supports, transportation, healthcare services, and other community resources.
- Facilitate referrals to internal and external programs and collaborate with treatment providers, recovery coaches, case managers, and community agencies.
- Conduct substance screening activities, including random drug testing and breathalyzer administration, in accordance with program requirements.
- Monitor participant compliance with program expectations and house rules while addressing concerns and coordinating interventions as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough participant records, documentation, assessments, and goal tracking.
- Coordinate crisis intervention services and respond appropriately to participant needs and safety concerns.
- Participate in community outreach activities, educational events, and partnership meetings to increase awareness of recovery services and housing resources.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with law enforcement, probation and parole officers, treatment providers, nonprofit organizations, recovery organizations, and other community stakeholders.
- Identify housing and recovery support opportunities for individuals experiencing housing instability or homelessness.
- Assist with routine inspections, room checks, and operational oversight of recovery housing locations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary staffing meetings, treatment team discussions, and program planning activities.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, program development efforts, and grant-related activities as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Environment and Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, carrying, and movement between community locations.
- Ability to travel frequently throughout the community, county, and surrounding service areas.
- Frequent operation of a motor vehicle for client visits, outreach activities, meetings, and transportation-related responsibilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through written documentation.
- Work is performed in office settings, community locations, recovery housing environments, and participant residences.
- Regular interaction with individuals experiencing substance use disorders, behavioral health challenges, crisis situations, or disruptive behaviors.
- Potential exposure to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, environmental hazards, fumes, odors, dust, and other community-based conditions.
